Halo also represents a change in type for Hamilton, who had long been associated with bulldogs and has now surprised many fans by bringing home a golden retriever instead.
According to updates cited from US-based breeder Goldiva Goldens and the Lewis Hamilton Brasil account on July 31, 2026, Halo was flown to Los Angeles this week to join Hamilton. The breeder identified Halo as coming from Goldiva Goldens and announced the move publicly as the puppy made the trip to her new home.
Goldiva Goldens said on Instagram, “We’re excited to fly Ms Halo to Los Angeles to Formula 1 Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton. Dog trainer Kirstin McMillian, who is a three-generation animal trainer, flew to Maine yesterday.” That detail underlined that Halo’s move was not being handled casually, but with the same support structure Hamilton has relied on before.
Hamilton has retained Los Angeles-based animal trainer Kirstin McMillian, who previously worked with Roscoe and Coco. Keeping the same trainer in place links Halo’s arrival to the dogs that were already central to Hamilton’s life and suggests the transition is being managed with continuity rather than treated as a simple replacement after Roscoe’s death.
McMillian’s involvement appears to have started before Halo even reached California. The breeder said she had flown to Maine ahead of the transfer, indicating that Hamilton wanted the puppy’s handover supervised by someone already trusted within that circle. For a driver whose schedule is shaped by international travel and long stretches away at race weekends, that continuity matters.
Roscoe’s death at 13 last September had left a visible gap. Halo’s arrival does not change the significance of that loss, but it does open a new chapter in Hamilton’s life with dogs after a period defined by Roscoe’s absence.
That fresh start quickly became public. Halo’s introduction drew immediate attention online after Kim Kardashian posted a photograph of the puppy on Instagram, pushing Hamilton’s new companion into the spotlight almost as soon as she arrived.
