Hamilton keeps Kardashian romance out of F1

Lewis Hamilton is heading toward the Miami Grand Prix with his private life drawing unusual attention, as reports of an increasingly public relationship with Kim Kardashian collide with his apparent determination to keep it separate from Formula 1.

The attention has built during F1’s 35-day break between the Japanese Grand Prix at the end of March and Miami at the start of May, a pause one report linked to the cancellations of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia rounds because of the war in the Middle East. During that window, Hamilton was repeatedly seen in the United States with Kardashian, moving the story well beyond rumor.

Multiple reports said the pair were seen together at major events including the Super Bowl and Coachella. They were later reportedly spotted at Nobu Malibu for what was described as a two-hour dinner, before being photographed again on a Malibu beach. One account said the beach images showed them kissing, while another referenced TMZ footage under the caption: “Kim Kardashian & Lewis Hamilton show PDA during a Malibu beach day!”

What gives the story particular weight before Miami is that Hamilton is also said to have drawn a clear boundary around it. According to information cited from the British newspaper The Sun, he allegedly refused to appear in the next season of The Kardashians even though Kardashian filmed sequences referencing their relationship, including during her trip to the Japanese Grand Prix.

A production team source, cited in that report, said Hamilton “prefers to keep their relationship discreet” and added that “it is unrealistic to think that Kim and Lewis will film together.” That fits with the broader line in the reports that, despite the visibility of the relationship away from the paddock, Hamilton wants to keep his personal life out of his F1 work.

He has not stepped away from the racing side during the break. The reports say Hamilton completed two days of Pirelli testing at Fiorano before flying to the United States, and also took part in a Ferrari filming day at Monza alongside Charles Leclerc as the team prepared updates ahead of Miami.

That leaves Hamilton arriving at one of the season’s most visible race weekends with two parallel storylines around him: Ferrari’s push to improve its car, and a relationship now public enough to command headlines but, if the reports are accurate, still being kept at arm’s length from Formula 1 itself.
