Verstappen and Hadjar Star in Red Bull Hotel Prank

Max Verstappen turned director and Isack Hadjar kept a straight face throughout Red Bull’s latest hidden-camera stunt, with the pair pranking hotel guests at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino before the Miami Grand Prix.

The video, published through Red Bull’s official social media channels, shows Verstappen in a back room feeding instructions through an earpiece to comedian Mr Red, cast as a trainee receptionist, and later to Hadjar himself. Guests arriving at reception were told a full-size guitar was their room key, handed hundreds of complimentary shower caps and met with a stream of increasingly odd behavior designed to leave them guessing what was going on.

Hadjar became the focal point once he moved behind the desk. Following Verstappen’s prompts, he held guests’ hands, demonstrated shower caps, randomly clapped, launched into a workout warm-up and even played the guitar while screaming, all without breaking character.

One of the recurring gags involved a cardboard cutout of Verstappen being presented to female guests, with staff asking whether they thought the four-time Formula 1 champion was cute. In one exchange reported from the prank, a guest said of the cutout, “Yes, he is handsome,” only to be told, “Then you can sleep next to him.”

The stunt was filmed in Florida ahead of the Miami weekend as part of the team’s usual run of Grand Prix social content. Reports around the video described this as the first season Verstappen and Hadjar have been team-mates at Red Bull, and both have regularly featured in these off-track challenges.

After watching from the control room, Max Verstappen, Red Bull driver, summed up the result: “We did well. People were completely confused. It was very nice to watch from here.”

The reaction online focused less on the individual jokes than on Hadjar’s delivery. Reddit users called it “crazy” that he never laughed, said he looked “so comfortable” in the role and praised him for getting through the whole routine without cracking up once.
