Lando Norris has unveiled his first Madame Tussauds wax figure in London, with the reigning Formula 1 world champion set to go on public display from June 30 just days before he returns to Silverstone to defend his British Grand Prix win.
The new figure at the Baker Street attraction turns Norris’s title-winning rise into a public fan attraction ahead of his home race. Built over several months with Norris involved in the process, it is dressed in a papaya McLaren race suit donated by the driver and posed holding a replica of his 2025 race helmet in a celebratory stance.
For Norris, the first in-person meeting with his wax likeness was equal parts pride and discomfort. “Seeing the figure finished and standing next to it is pretty surreal - it really is like looking at another version of me,” Norris said in remarks released around the unveiling. “I’m used to seeing myself in photos, videos or a reflection, but this is me in 3D.” In another account of the moment, he summed it up more bluntly by saying: “it creeps me out.”
That reaction underlined how closely the museum’s artists had worked to capture him. Norris said “the artists have really nailed the details; it’s so lifelike,” and explained that donating his own racewear mattered because he wanted fans to see up close “something I actually wear when I’m racing” and help make the figure feel “as realistic as possible.”
The timing is central to why the unveiling matters. Madame Tussauds first announced the project in March and aimed to complete it in time for the British Grand Prix, which takes place on July 3-5. Norris heads back to his home event carrying a different status from a year ago after sealing his maiden Formula 1 drivers’ championship at the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and he now returns to Silverstone as both world champion and defending race winner.
That shift is what gives the display more weight than a standard museum launch. Norris is no longer simply one of Formula 1’s most popular drivers. The wax figure reflects how his championship success has pushed him into a broader sporting spotlight, one that now places him among the best-known names beyond the paddock.
From June 30, the figure will be displayed in Madame Tussauds London’s Culture Capital zone alongside Lewis Hamilton and other major sports stars including Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Mary Earps, Anthony Joshua and Kylian Mbappe. With Silverstone next on the calendar, the installation offers fans an early reminder of the profile Norris now carries into his home Grand Prix as the sport’s reigning champion.
